Hello all, as we know, Chad Hurley has beautifully said,

Video is universal and allows people around the world to communicate and exchange ideas.

and this is also true that Marketing is telling the world you’re a rock star

Lumen5 is the easiest way to engage your audience and grow your brand on social media with professional video content. Video marketing is one of the most effective marketing techniques to reach your audience, and drive business growth. Lumen5 empowers you to create video content for social media.

This is fully available on both mobile(android & ios) and desktop versions.

Our Initiative -

We are team Bhagirathi from the Samurai-2 batch of Masai School tried to make a clone of the lumen5 website. I’m writing this blog to explain our journey while doing collaborative work remotely.

We believe, “ Always there is a chance of improvement ”. So our team tries not only to clone the website but also to incorporate some additional functionalities so that it can be more user-friendly.

Our Agendas -

  1. Breaking the whole work into the smallest divisions according to our strong zone.
  2. Setting up the deadline for every individual.
  3. Review the code when someone is unable to make the part prominently.
  4. Regular commits in GitHub and 2 times stand up so that everyone is updated accordingly.
  5. If some flaws are found in the original website, try to solve them as well.

Snapshots of our Project -

1. Landing page -

a) The landing page looks normal in outer view but the pictures are moving and the animations are also added for a better user experience.

b) Moving videos attract the customers to explore more of the website.

2. Case-study page -

Whatever publications are already made into lumen-5 is shown here.

3. Signup page & Login page -

a) Name, email, and password are needed for signup.

b) Email and password are needed for login purposes.

4. Greeting page -

After successful signup or login, every user is redirected to the welcome page with some advertisements.

5. Dashboard page -

After watching all advertisements, the user can skip the page and go to the dashboard page. News and ads regarding the editing options are shown here.

5. Template page -

The skip button redirects me to the template page. This page contains a lot of templates for social media lovers to share their views through the videos in a creative manner.

Additional Functionalities -

1. Message pop-up-box -

For users help

2. Password change facility without login -

Save time for the user to change his password without login.

Technologies used -

  1. We used HTML-5 and CSS-3 for front-end
  2. Javascript for back-end
  3. Localstorage is used for the data-storing purpose (as we are not introduced to the databases till now)

Other resources

  1. Google font - https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Poppins:wght@300&display=swap
  2. Icons - Flat icons, Noun projects, Font awesome
  3. Images- Unsplash

Bhagirathi Team -

By following a well-structured way, all of us successfully completed our responsibilities before the given time. The members of team Bhagirathi are-

  1. Suman Chakraborty
  2. Mangesh Landge
  3. Deepak Hegde
  4. Milind Dev

In Masai School, we learned that

knowing is not enough, we must apply.

Willing is not enough, we must do.

(- Bruce lee)

So, we thought of adding some extraordinary updates to our project and we make it happen.

Please have a look at our repo. Check me

Please a look and comment on our performances. Click here to see our full project.

Challenges -

1. Communication

Distance always matters for group work. As we are from different parts of India, miscommunications were the common challenges for us. But, we make it happen with the help of slack and WhatsApp

2. Collaboration

As we are using Git collaboration, initially we were facing some technical issues, but continuously co-ordinations, make things easier

These two challenges improve our abilities to be a good Team Player

Conclusion -

I would like to thank, all of my team members, Mangesh Landge, Deepak Hegde, and Milind Dev for their contribution. The first day, after getting the project, we thought, it was impossible for us, but

Everything is impossible, until it is done…

I’m feeling very proud to get such hard-working team members and also feeling very fortunate for being a part of Masai School.
